I suppose there comes a time in a bands life when you have to accept the fact that people might care just enough about what you’re doing to warrant a biography being written. Just to clear things up however, this band has never been about, and never will be about egotistical biographies outlining how “we transcend genres in our never-ending journey on this tumultuous road to stardom”. When it comes down to it, we are just 4 best friends hanging out.
I write lyrics about girls, cause I’m a melodramatic fuckwit. I have a wordpress blog with a dark and haunting name, despite the fact I’m not dark or haunting at all. I grew a fringe because Tom Delonge did. I ride a bike because I lost my license for over a year for being a moron. I’m a kleptomaniac. NSYNC’s album “celebrity” is the only album I know every word to in its entirety. I’m straight edge and vegetarian, and I think my dad questions my sexuality because of this. I use to have dreams about the Backstreet Boys.
Matt, our guitarist, works at an “Outback Steakhouse”, where he has to sing songs about onion rings and how he is astronomically psyched about being an “Outbacker”, despite the fact he goes home, listens to Pantera til 5am whilst wearing a Blood Duster shirt that says “cunt” on it. He wears corduroy pants. He use to wear combat boots. In primary school he had a Mohawk because of Green Day. If the opportunity arose, Matt would quit MJK, join a Black Sabbath cover band and become a full time masturbator, spending his entire income on sustaining his “premium membership” on pornhub.com
Sam, our bassist, is a qualified tradesman in the contemporary art of refrigeration mechanics. He works with dudes who have siq tribal and barb wire arm bands… probably. He used to have a nose piercing, which is a bit weird. He’s the only one in the band who has a license, cause we’re all shit. He once had a better fringe than me, and I’m glad he cut it off.
Al Jamal Salem, our drummer, is only 17. He’s still at school and is probably studying for his trial-HSC Maths exam as I write this. He listens to Muscles, despite the fact it makes me question his heterosexuality. We practice in his bedroom. We call his mum ‘D-mo’ and speculate as to whether she mosh’s upstairs while we are practicing. He rocks double denim, and somehow pulls it off. He has better facial hair than any of us. Deep down I resent myself for shaving his head. I want him to grow his hair long again, so I can return to being the hottest dude in the band.
We all listen to a lot of different music, and each has it’s own influence on the songs we write, but instead of listing all these bands, we’d rather you make up your own mind. We have played with heaps of awesome local and international acts, such as: A Wilhelm Scream, Lifetime, Bring Me the Horizon, The Ghost Inside, Parkway Drive, Miles Away, I Killed the Prom Queen, Irrelevant, Carpathian, Break Even and many, many more.
We’re all just kids doing the things our parents never let us do when we were younger, and if you’re down with that, then come and hang out with us, climb rocks and not shower for a week at a time.
